Project Description

The project involved creating an additional 24 bedrooms to Scarborough's only 4 star hotel which are situated in an extension forming a new top floor. The work consisted of covering the whole of the existing roof with a temporary roof, stripping the off the existing roof coverings, supplying and constructing a new steel frame structure on top of the existing brick structure and finishing the exterior mansard with timber and slates to blend into the surrounding building. All of the works were carried out directly above the existing bedrooms which were still in use, therefore health and safety was of paramount importance. Working in conjunction with the Hotel Management enabled the hotel to be fully operational throughout the contract period, particularly during the peak holiday season.
